I cycled along the towpath next to the River Lee, as well as the track next to the River Stort. Both of these rivers are navigable (i.e. you can take canal boats down them). The end destination of this cycle trip was Bishops Stortford.
The River Lee I have cycled quite a few times before, it’s pretty cool. Different to the usual grand union canal that I cycle frequently so it’s nice to ride it from time to time.
The River Stort is a new river to me as I’ve never cycled along it before. I was very much impressed with the river route, it was very cyclable, great views and was nice and rural. Going via Roydon, Sawbridgeworth & Bishops Stortford. This segment was 8/10.
Below are some photographs from the journey!
